Silumgar Control (Standard)

The strategy of this deck is to stall out the game by countering major threats, killing specific creatures, and occasionally clearing the board. There are a few utility cards, such as the Haven and Crucible lands, and Foul Tongue Invocation. This deck is Control preboarded against Burn, it is set up with as many ways to get life and value out of the cards, it runs a slightly low wrath count because of the lack of big creatures burn plays. Dragonlord Ojutai is in the deck to add fast card advantage in an effort to make sure you have answers to as many different threats as possible. The mana base is large, the deck utilizes 4 Scry lands, 4 gain life lands, 4 fetch lands, and 2 Opulent palace tap lands to ensure that you hit your devotion for double color costed spells. The last utility land is a Tomb of Yawgmoth as an extra mana fix to insure that you have black mana. I run one Radiant Fountain in the side, just as a last ditch effort at some lucky life gain. Also included in the sideboard are two copies of Mizzium Meddler as a way to avoid burn damage and get around stoke the flames if possible.
