"Yet even as hope failed...Telperion bore at last, upon a leafless bough, one great flower of silver."
*             -The Silmarillion

*Telperion, the First Light of the Trees of Valinor, and beacon of Illënor's power in Arda; in self-preservation, gave its only silver flower to Fëanor. He took the flower and enchanted its pure-light into three Silma-crystals; the Jewels of Fëanor perpetuated the only pure light in all of Arda.
*After many battles against the forces of Morgoth for possession of the Silmarils, through much toil and strife, the first of the Simaril jewels came to Eärendil the Bright. Calling on the Valar to descend and conquer Morgoth; the jewel was returned to them, those who first vocalized Telperion into existence.
*After the First Age, Eärendil with his ship and the Silmaril were sent into the heavens where their light shown as a star of hope to the Free Peoples of the earth, and he never returned to Middle-earth.
*Eärendil and his ship navigate the heavens as the Evening and Morning Star, the brightest light, and Alpha in the 7-star constellation Valacirca. Known as 'The Scicle of the Valar', this star formation foretells the ultimate fall of Morgoth as evil is purged from Arda.
