Tricolor Green Red White
« on: October 03, 2015, 09:05:00 pm »
Hello,
I just wanted to ask if someone can give me an opinion about my deck.
Mainly casual I'm sure some cards don't fit in my deck (like Wandering Champion maybe) so I'll take all advice you can give :)
I considere this deck like a midranged - controle deck, but I can be wrong.

Thank you

White, blUe, Black, Red, Green.
Cut seven cards, two of which should be land. Reduce your average Converted mana cost to less than 3.

To start, I'd remove: Atarka, World Render, Tusked Colossodon,
Perpetual Johnny. Interactions and originality are preferable to winning, though winning doesn't hurt.
If I throw statistics at you, they likely came from:

Ah yes, sorry ^^

I removed Atarka, World Render, Tusked Colossodon, Snapping Gnarlid, Rot Shambler, Return to the Earth (because I have enough other cards with the same effect), 1 plains and 1 mountain.

I agree about Atarka, but the Tusked Colossodon is really so costly?

It is a vanilla 6/5 with a converted mana cost of 6 that does nothing else.

For 6 mana, you can cast Baloth Woodcrasher; next turn lead in the 1st main phase with your standard land play, followed by Map the Wastes, and you're attacking with a 12/12 that has trample.

For the overall concept: while you have a sizable assort of things that can happen, you need to build some consistency into the deck. Consolidate around a general theme, and transition from 1 ofs to full play sets.

A general theme? So instead of being prepared for "all" I need to "focus" one thing.
I suppose I can remove half my counter spells or damage spells.

With the bulk of 1 ofs in your deck, the odds you draw any card are slim. Building a deck for everything leaves room for nothing. Reign it in towards Naya creature ramp, and you will more dependably put creatures into play.
