UWR Geist

This is a tempo deck, built around Geist of Saint Traft. Play early threats like Monastery Swiftspear, which gets prowess triggers, and can be attacking for quite a bit. Young Pyromancer makes lots of tokens, which can slow down the opponents big things for a while. The control aspect of the deck comes in the form of counter spells like Remand, and Mana Leak. 4 Lightning Bolt...duh. Lightning Helix does the same and also gains us 3 life. Snapcaster Mage allows us to get back any of the spells we have already cast: Lightning Bolt, Snapcaster Mage, Lightning Bolt is a pretty good combo, plus the mage stays and he can chump after we have used him.

A plus to the deck is that you very rarely have to mulligan, as you can play tempo until you get your beaters down, or just go full out aggro.

My friend suggested running Delver of Secrets in the deck, however this is actually a bad idea, because when you look at the statistics, if you replaced the Young Pyromancers for Delvers, and you had 3 lands, and 2 other spells, which aren't creatures, then the chance of having a spell on top is less than 50% which is not good enough. Also Brainstorm and Ponder are not modern legal so that makes Delver worse as well.
