To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
This deck has been worked on since I first began magic back in 2014.
It is always a work in progress and is my fav deck out of all I have listed on this site.
Once upon a time this was a Mardu deck headed by Alesha, Who Smiles at Death reviving low power creatures with ETB effects that made tokens.
I have learned how to actually play this game since then.
Many of the cards in this deck come from back when I began to play Magic because of this. Many cards are from the Khans block that I have not had the heart to remove.
Najeela, the Blade-Blossom was the blessing this deck needed. She is a top tier waifu that has single handedly made many of my old nostalgic favs actually synergize in the same deck. Zurgo Helmsmasher being the bomb in the first "real" deck I ever played back in college.
This deck isn't a combo deck at heart, but I wouldn't be Hex if I left out Druids' Repository, Cryptolith Rite and Song of Freyalise to create infinite combat steps now would I? These 3 cards also mana ramp and fix the deck hard even without the commander. Should anyone want to leave these cards out to de-power the deck, feel free to replace them with alternative ramp.
This deck has 3 token doublers within it. Doubling Season, Parallel Lives and Anointed Procession. These all lend to the real focus of the deck. Tokens
Warrior tokens are the real focus of the build. With many cards that repeatably create one off warrior tokens as the turns tick by.
Cards like Oketra the True and Imperious Perfect are fantastic ways to help maintain a constant trickling board presence without immediately winning on the spot. This I know is likely not the optimal way to play her, but combo-ing off to win every game is rather dull to me. This deck is also capable of just winning through a pure wide beat-down strategy. Feel free to add pump abilities like beastmaster ascension and cathars crusade should you want to lean more on this strategy.
To summarize, this deck is not optimal or hyper focused, but it is what I want. It is nostalgic to me while also being functional with the potential to sneak in a combo victory every so often. It is a good level between decks for fun and the overwhelmingly opressive edh decks that one guy always brings to the table. It is the way I want it to be. Nostalgic, functional, wide, and most of all, fun.
Go somewhere else for an optimal turn 4 combo to win version of this deck or something.
P.S: I will get a Rhys the Redeemed for this list one day.
