This deck functions mostly as a Control Deck due to its numerous options for interaction and its somewhat slow start to get into its threats. It needs to damage to each opponent throughout the game in hopes to eventually knock them out with Niv or another form of damage / life loss. It runs only 5 of the 30 Ravnica Guildmages in this version. Each Guildmage included can function as a chump blocker or take advantage of its abilities in the mid to late game. It also runs five 1 drop hybrid mana creatures too for similar utility. It's seemingly a much more powerful deck than it used to be when it ran all 30 of the Guildmages, but I imagine it's only a 4 out of 10 in terms of power due its loose focus on combat, budget mana base and mostly slow ramp.
