To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Hi guys! Please give me advice about my EDH Sultai Death and Rebirth deck. Let me know if you think it would be fun to pilot or to play against!
My aim with this deck is to create a fairly competitive deck without being that guy at the table; by which I mean that I want to win, but not turn my friends against me.
I'm very interested to hear your thoughts on why you would remove a card that is currently in and why the replacement card fits better. I really like to hear the thought process of others rather than a list of the cookie-cutter top 10 best cards are and why I need to reshape my deck around them.
My thoughts about how I sort my deck into categories:
Ramp / Draw:
Ashnod's Altar - classic sacrifice outlet
Cabal Coffers - good card. amazing card once Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth hits
Chromatic Lantern - amazing mana fixing
Commander's Sphere - obligatory commander ramp
Cryptolith Rite - makes all my creatures Birds of Paradise
Darksteel Ingot - because it exists
Disciple of Bolas - card draw, life-gain and sacrifice outlet in one
Dimir Signet - filter
Growing Rites of Itlimoc - Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun - not hard to flip in this deck and then its potential for mana generation is huge
Mulldrifter - such a good value card, with options!
Nissa, Steward of Elements - I think she fits into this deck well
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx - somewhat risky, but usually has a good return
River Kelpie - Gives amazing card draw in this deck, and with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and a sacrifice outlet, much shenanigans to be had..
Simic Signet - filter
Twilight Prophet - such am amazing card, an extra card per turn with auto drain life for all opponents
Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger - My lands make extra, theirs become very slow. Fair enough. Bad for politics though.
Tutors:
Buried Alive - search for 3 creatures for your graveyard on the cheap
Defense of the Heart - I totally love this card! Tutor for any two creatures and cheat them directly into the battlefield!
Demonic Tutor - just the best tutor in the game
Entomb - actually cheaper than the best tutor if can cast what you searched for from your graveyard straight away!
Expedition Map - a reusable tutor for any land card thanks to Muldrotha, the Gravetide
Intuition - tutor for 3, even if two end up in your graveyard; not really a problem in this deck!
Liliana Vess - you get to make an opponent discard a card, you get a Vampiric Tutor-on-a-stick, or if you really want, all creatures from all graveyards are now yours to command! What's not to love about her? Just don't make any bargains with her or let he turn you into a zombie.
Pattern of Rebirth - a nice and fairly easy way to tutor for a high CMC creature or one I desperately need to deal with a situation that cheats it straight onto the battlefield!
Board wipes:
Cyclonic Rift - I just can't not include this in my deck
Nevinyrral's Disk - one of my all time favorites
Torment of Hailfire - works on multiple levels of awesome
Offensive:
Avatar of Woe - targeted creature removal on tap
Beguiler of Wills mind control / spot removal their creatures
Caustic Caterpillar - targeted artifact and enchantment removal
Fleshbag Marauder - everybody gets to sacrifice a creature
Grave Titan - zombie token madness
Massacre Wurm - such a punisher. An effective small creature board-wipe too.
Merciless Executioner - everybody gets to sacrifice a creature
Progenitor Mimic - the clone any creature card on the battlefield gift that keeps on giving
Seal of Primordium - targeted artifact and enchantment removal
Sheoldred, Whispering One - My favorite praetor, great value and fits my theme so well.
Shriekmaw - targeted creature removal
Strip Mine - I think this is the best targeted land removal. And with Muldrotha I can play it again and again. However combination of replay-ability this can quickly upset the politics of a game of EDH fast
Defensive:
Baleful Strix - an amazing flying defender as well as a cantrip
Butcher of Malakir - a big cornerstone, on a flyer!
Countersquall - a very nice counter
Exquisite Blood - so good it makes me feel tingly
Grave Pact - a big cornerstone for this deck
Glen Elendra Archmage - so much win-on-a-stick! Then, if Mikaeus, the Unhallowed is out too, I get all tingly.
Mikaeus, the Unhallowed - because he gives undying to all my creatures
Siren Stormtamer - Quite a useful and counter-on-a-stick
Spellskite - because. just because.
Spore Frog - so cheap. so good.
Utility:
Animate Dead - great for getting creatures back on the battlefield from any graveyard, especially ETB effects.
Bojuka Bog - probably one of if not the most graveyard hate card I most fear is going to be played against this deck. But it is nice to have a copy to use if I come up against a deck similar to mine.
Dance of the Dead - great for getting creatures back on the battlefield from any graveyard, especially ETB effects.
Eternal Witness - This is basically a cornerstone of this deck, enabling instants and sorcery cards to be replayed, and to bring things back if Muldrotha herself gets shut down
Necromancy - great for getting creatures back on the battlefield from any graveyard, especially ETB effects, includes an instant speed option!
Reliquary Tower - Works well in almost any deck
Miren, the Moaning Well - Another creature sacrifice outlet that lets me gain a little life back
Thespian's Stage - clone any land even my opponent's ones and I can swap for a better one if one becomes available.
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - mana-fixing for black and enables Cabal Coffers
