Rakdos, Supreme Lord of Riots (EDH / Commander)

This is my Rakdos, Lord of Riots commander. The deck is built around dealing damage at nearly every turn, either via attack, or effects. Any point of damage is enough to begin flooding the board with huge, hopefully hasty boys. Every card I've selected falls into to one of five separate sections, all having a task that is pertinent to the deck's goals.

A) Deal direct damage, or amplify damage from other sources in order to allow Rakdos to be played, or to lessen the costs of other creatures due to Rakdos. (Nettle drone and pals, Warstorm Surge, Dictate of the Twin Gods, Mogis, Gratuitous Violence, Archfiend of Despair, Berserkers' Onslaught)

B) Have a large, impactful effect, either when entering the battlefield or while being on the battlefield while also having either a large colorless mana cost or an X mana cost to allow heavily amplified effects. (Blightsteel Colossus, Etali, Grenzo, Combustible Gearhulk, Steel Hellkite, Walking Ballista,)

C) Having some sort of utility to cause creatures to be more difficult to answer, such as graveyard recursion or haste abilities. (Phyrexian Reclamation, Palace Siege, Sheoldred, Lightning Greaves, Fervor)

D) Generate card draw or tutor to keep momentum and prevent stalling on turns where the entire hand can be played out at once. (Bloodgift Demon, Harvester of Souls, Immortal Sun, Phyrexian Arena, Belzenlok, Razaketh,)

E) Fall into another category while also creating a win condition when in the correct circumstance. (Mikaeus/Triskelion/Cauldron of Souls, Chandra's Ignition, Master of Cruelties, Neheb/Aggravated Assault)

Double Masters 2022 was absolutely insane. Eldrazi titan prints, excellent reprints across the board, and the king of all reprints: (Imperial Seal).

I personally went in and got very lucky. Imperial seal is now in my possession, and as such has entered the game in Rakdos. With this spot of good fortune I decided to also splurge and buy the other card I'd been wanting for quite some time in the japanese mystical archive (Demonic Tutor).

I also happened upon Ulamog, so an auto include for me aswell. In the same vein as Ulamog, I've decided that it's all or nothing for Rakdos anymore, so I've put Mikeus and Triskelion back into the deck.

To make room for these powerful men, I've removed a few random cards that I've found clog the deck anymore. The standout for me personally was Combustible Titan who I always enjoyed to play, but had come under my eye as too hit or miss recently. He'll hopefully find another home eventually, but for now his spot has a much larger man in his place. I also removed Sower of Discord as the card is strictly winmore. I've never had a circumstance that the card itself has actually added any more pressure to the game.

If I happen upon Kozilek or a Cloudstone Curio, Grenzo is next to come out. Grenzo is fun when he works, and absolutely miserable when he whiffs. The spot will be much more efficient for either of the mentioned cards.

These cards all add something very powerful to the deck but are all quite expensive. The cards in parenthesis total to about (320.04$).

These last three are transmute cards that hit relevant mana points, but I personally don't think they are worth the slot in my personal decklist. Do consider them though if your list is a bit less pressed for slots than mine.

I've also thoroughly updated the land base quite some time ago, but every time I update the deck I never have the guts to go through and remember every single land. I promise next time I update the list I will have the deck on hand and actually update the lands to their true state.

When I come into a sum of disposable income, I will update the lands with the entire Maybe Board.
