Meren with Love. (EDH / Commander)

This started as a "Let's put a bunch of tokens and beat face while also getting some value out of the tokens" kind of deck, with Mycoloth, Kessig cagebreakers and other Devour stuff, but it was all over the place, and I already had a tokens deck with Marath and now Mina and Denn, so I switched more towards the classic aristocrat kind of builds, with a tendency of winning long grindy games.

Notes about the deck
The self mill amount of cards seem to be adecuate right now, if I find myself needing more things in my yard I should be able to tutor for Underrealm Lich and go from there, while Doom Whisperer, Satyr Wayfinder, Altar of dementia and to a lesser extent Skull Prophet and Grist, the Hunger Tide work as backups with added utility just fine.

As for overperformers in the deck, I would have to give it to Prowling Geistcatcher and Liliana's Standarbearer, granted, both of them need a board to function, but when you do things can go a little silly, specially if you can produce mana aside with things like Pitiless Plunderer or Phyrexian Altar or having a Zulaport Cutthroat in play.

I cutted Kokusho and Blood Artist from the deck because neither of those where great at closing games, sure they help, but when I had to cast Kokusho at 6 mana and not gain any life immediately felt like asking for unnesesary amounts of attention, and Blood Artist being targeted also felt like just poking the bear and it wasn't good enough. I might add Poison-Tip Archer instead of something else and give it a try if I feel like I cutted to much on the draining department.

There is a different list that I'm currently working on, where I use Nethroi, Apex of Death as the alternative commander without doing any changes to the mana base, in that list I removed a bunch of non-creature spells in favor of more creatures with self-mill abilities or that reanimate on their own like Phyrexian Delver or Apprentice Necromancer, is intended for cases where Meren might be to much for the table.
