Izzet Midrange (cube sep 2019) (Cube)

2-1 in a team draft with this. p1 fed me lots of powerful red cards, and i was pretty open to be any flavor of red aggressive deck. but both drafters to my left ended up in assertive boros decks, and so in pack 2 i ended up with a bunch of blue cards that shifted my strategy a bit. this deck was fine, but certainly capable of some awkward draws when the early game cards showed up late, or vice versa.

i beat barry on UB control - game 1 i got in lots of early damage and managed to brimstone volley through his counterspells for the finish. he wrecked me game 2, and game 3 involved some furious trading of resources that ended with a locust god on the table - too much for him to handle.

anna's boros angels deck folded to my zealous conscripts in game 1. game 2 a semi-risky keep led to me getting crushed, and game 3 a great keep of 3 islands and ponder somehow never saw a red mana source all game, leading me to get smashed.

peter's UB control deck had some hefty threats, but my counterspells ended up disrupting his plans enough to get fast wins and take that match. condescend in particular played very nicely.
