King of the Hill (EDH / Commander)

The story:

Kazuul became tired. Having become a recluse atop his cliffs and mountains. The ogre knew few who could best him and even fewer whom would try. Yet there he sat and waited. He knew that it was only a matter of time before the puny humans, kor, merfolk and so many other clans would try for the supreme rights to the Gemstone Caverns that lay inside his mountain.

So instead of just waiting. He decided a more....proactive approach. One where, if his opponents wouldn't come for him by choice. He would force their hand. Making it near impossible to resist the urge to try their might against his.

What came next even surprised the other ogres that lived near him. He sent goblins to infiltrate their defenses, dragons in the skies to inspire fear, even humans whom he deemed worthy joined his cause.

And what was his cause? A war. One that no one could turn away and run from. One that in time, only the strong bodied or willed would survive. With the plans in motion, the units ready. This tired old king did what he hated most of all.
