So, Dredge is getting boring, nobody plays Progenitus and I wanted to use Hunting Grounds for a while...
I can confirm that this works pretty well in my playgroups, if that says anything.
The dredge cards make it so you're able to activate Hunting Grounds, which cheats Progenitus onto the battlefield as early as your opponents 2nd turn. On top of that it can cheat in other creatures, if ever need that. But since it's really hard to get Hunting Grounds to hand consistently, due to all the dredge, you really are almost forced to keep a hand with Hunting Grounds in it, otherways the entire gimmick and also one of the strongest interactions in the deck just won't work, which means you'll have some dead cards in the deck. That's not quite optimal to say the least.
Progenitus, being one of the 2 only cards we really don't want in graveyard, has a built in ability to never hit it. If it gets dredged into it, it goes to the library. This tips the chances of getting it to hand more and more in our favor, espcially with The draw spells we have (Faithless Looting and Cathartic Reunion)
I honestly believe that this deck could be top tier, if Hunting Grounds had an ability to get it out of graveyard to hand or the battlefield and I hope that modern horrizons gives us such a card.
