To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
What started as GRN draft chaff and a few 50 cent rares is now legitimate.
The massive Gatelove in this set really rounds out this deck with a cheap, efficient board wipe in Gates Ablaze which will routinely go off for 6+. The magic number of Gates to assume when evaluating cards is 6. It has been exceedingly rare to play a game and not have at least that many in play. 8 to 9 is very common.
Gatebreaker Ram is perfect in slowing the opponent's attacks early game until it grows big and gets vigilance and trample. And it always survives Gates Ablaze.
The 3 CMC on those two new additions helps to mitigate the slow mana the Gates produce.
The CMC on a big, dumb idiot like Gate Colossus could easily be as low as 3 as the mid-to-late game progresses. If you've got a Guild Summit on board, a Gate in hand, and stack your triggers right, you can recur this guy from graveyard to hand. And then you'll be casting him for 2...
A few good pulls from the RNA pre-release and we've got shock lands.
