Angelic Hit Squad (EDH / Commander)

This deck is focused on combat damage, and lots of it. With Aurelia, the Warleader as the commander, and cards like Combat Celebrant, Aggravated Assault, Savage Beating and Relentless Assault, there is usually no shortage of combat phases in which to deal that damage. Most of the creatures are angels which make for big flying bodies, and they play well with each other with many of them giving bonuses to each other to make them even harder to kill. The few non-angel creatures are either included for mana ramp or added destructive purposes. There is a lot of life gain opportunities as well, and many cards play off of the life gain such as Archangel of Thune, Resplendent Angel and Angelic Accord. Having Archangel of Thune, Ajani's Welcome and Assemble the Legion out at the same time gets ridiculous fast. Helm of the Host is a nasty combo with most of the angels in the deck, but it's also a game ender with Aurelia, the Warleader if your opponent(s) don't have a way to kill her on the turn that she gets equipped. Once she starts making copies of herself, your battle phase will never end as long as you keep attacking. Helm of the Host is also rather nasty with Iona, and within a couple attacks, it can essentially lock your opponents from being able to play much of anything. Wheel of Fortune is in there just because, who doesn't enjoy a seven card draw, or potentially ruining all of your opponent(s) carefully laid plans. Serra Ascendant is always awesome to see on the opening draw, because you can't beat a 6/6 flying lifelink for 1 mana. Strip Mine and Wasteland are included to deal with problematic lands, and there's a good measure of individual and mass creature removal with Path to Exile, Swords to Plowshares, End Hostilities and Terminus. Ajani, Caller of the Pride is awesome in this deck as well. His top two abilities are great for buffing your creatures, but if you can trigger his third ability, you'll have 2/2 cats for days. Play that with Angel of Jubilation and/or Vanquisher's banner and you have a lot of really big angry cats. This deck plays very well in multiplayer commander, but it's an absolute monster in a two player game.
