To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Mannnn, I just wanna fling things. That's like, the whole point of this deck other than power-matters synergies. I don't have this deck in person, so playtesting is going to be relatively nonexistent for a while (I have a Mimeoplasm Deck in the works that I want in paper first). ANYWAYS, I wanted to build a deck that revolved around an amazing little card called Fling, without building Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord - because someone in my playgroup has him built - AND because there's no red. And where there is no red, there is no Fling. I also have about 50% of these cards in my collection, which makes the build not as hefty on my wallet.
Okaaay! Now to go over the general gameplan.
1) We're playing Green, so ramping fast and hard is a given. I tend to neglect rocks when playing green, hence only having 3 mana rocks (other than henge, because that isn't JUST a rock). I have a crypt, but I don't necessarily want to slam it in everything. We're running a few choice enchantments for haste, power, trample, and burn. Now that I'm thinking about it, Rancor may need to be dropped for a copy target spell card, because more fling is more fun.
2) Big dudes. There are some thicc bois in this list, which are generally just Gruul Goodstuff/Zilortha synergy cards.
3) Cheating cards out. We have Lukka and Vivien, both help us cast our creatures faster. As well as See the Unwritten, Green Sun's Zenith, and Finale of Devastation.
4) FLING (and synergies) Berserk, Return of the Wildspeaker, Unleash Fury, Finale of Devastation, Overwhelming Stampede, and God-Eternal Rhonas are all cards that make my big bois even bigger, which makes the Fling all the better. There's also Thud, which is a slow Fling, but that's okay because redundancy is good.
5) Evasion? Now, we have a LOT of trample in this deck. BUUUUT, we also have some ways to sneak extra damage in with Siege Behemoth and Proud Wildbonder, because maybe we don't want to deal with the big walls our opponents put in our way. We are playing Gruul after all, so we've got problems if we aren't smashing faces in.
All in all, the deck looks like it would be some fun, nothing crazy powerful (see my Winota deck for bullying a table), but good enough to maybe get a win every now and again.
As always, I'm open to any suggestions. Maybe I missed some spicy cards, maybe I'm missing some fling effects. Let me know!
