To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!

Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.

This deck is based on the idea of magic as a fight, where you don't trade blows, you trade cards. Therefore the deck emphasises on creating an card advantage, while beeing able to defend against threats and of course having an effective winning option.

First, what's the winning option? Discard Wonder and fly with your army, prefered Stromkirk Condemned and Bloodghast (Vampires +1-3) or Psychatog (+1-9) or Aquamoeba, Vexing Sphinx, Creeping Tar Pit, to victory.
Secondly, how to defend against threats? Use Nightshade Assassin, Dark Withering, Collective Brutality or Big Game Hunter to kill cirtical threats or counter with Circular Logic or Collective Brutality critical plays. Further there is Gorgon Recluse to deal with big creatures.
Thirdly, how to create card advantage? By creating good exchanges! Best example: Play Careful Study into Nightshade Assassin and kill a creature of your opponent. Now your opponent has to deal with Nightshade Assassin as a threat and may use Lightning Bolt for that. So in the end you have played two spells, but you got two cards extra and your opponent has also played two spells, but didn't get two cards extra. More cards for these kind of plays: Merfolk Looter, Vexing Sphinx, Big Game Hunter and Cephalid Coliseum.
An further advantage of this deck is that you can play most cards spontaneous. So if you have for example an Madness Enabler and free mana and your opponent attacks with a creature, you can suprise him by discarding (and playing) Nightshade Assassin or Gorgon Recluse to deal with the attacker.

Surely this deck also has an Archilles' heel and this is that you need Madness-Enablers to play your Madness-Cards cheaply. So if your opponent eliminates your Madness-Enablers you can be in trouble. Ways to mitigate that are for example: Playing first Collective Brutality and remove a removal, playing an Madness-Enabler and leave one mana free for protecion with a Circular Logic, playing the cheap Madness-Enabler first to test the waters, discard Deep Analysis before he plays the removal to get further Madenss-Enablers afterwards or even play Madness-Creatures - by their normal costs - first.

    Enjoy!
