Based on original idea by Pat McCallum for Inquest #15 (#16, July 1996, p.27)

Original Description:
The point here isn't to win.

With every card in this deck having a zero casting cost, you can't expect too much from it. And, By Golly, you won't be disappointed.

As pathetic as it may sound, the goal of this deck is just to see how long you can keep your head above water. Your creatures are sacrificial blockers and everything else falls into the category of delaying the inevitable: your death.

All pumped to play?

Original Decklist:
Have fun emptying your hand as early as the first turn, setting up roadblocks like Glacial Chasm, Maze of Ith & Ice Floe, and booby traps like Dark Sphere to soak some damage. Summon your Kobold and Thopter chumps to delay that one finisher.

God Help Us: this deck was a shameless loser and was unafraid to show it. The only decent picks were the Black Lotus, Strip Mines, & a full set of Classic Moxen, and even those couldn't really help you.

This Decklist: This update is not going down without a fight. Unlike the previous iteration, the average mana curve isn't zero (it's closer to one), which is the beauty of it.

Establish your dominance early on with the Wall of Blossoms and Ghost Quarters while building up your mana base. Eventually you can launch your trinkets at the enemy for a jagged metal shower, or release a ravenous hydra to devour what's left of your opponent.

Who's feeling like a Zero now?
