To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Modern mono-black Vampire deck list I'm working on; this is my first foray into modern, and is my first deck using black. I started with a list provided by user Connorai, and have tweaked and modified it over the course of the last couple of weeks so that it better matches my playstyle, and the local modern meta (which is only just starting up). I'm very happy with it so far, acknowledging that it's not competitive with the likes of Merfolk and Artifact Affinity, but can stand it's ground against the slew of other strong modern tribal decks that are popping up at my local.
Creatures:
4x Bloodghast - these guys are beasts, and need not be explained.4x Gatekeeper of Malakir - Solid 2 drop if they don't have any creatures out, but I tend to aim to kick him for the sac effect, as it's really strong; he's an early game minion that is actually great late game.
2x Captivating Vampire - That Vampire tribal though. The second effect doesn't get used much in my experience, but it has won me games.
4x Vampire Nighthawk - One of the two absolutely mandatory cards in any Vampire deck imo, 2/3 Flying, Deathtouch, & Lifelink for 3 is just too good!
4x Vampire Nocturnus - This is the other mandatory Vampire - a mono black Vampire deck without these isn't a mono-black Vampire deck.
2x Bloodline Keeper - These guys are fantastic if they get going. The tribal is real! Dropped from 3 to 2 because they can clog a little, and are a bit slow.
2x Griselbrand - GRISELBRAND!
Planeswalkers:
1x Sorin Markov
1x Liliana of the Dark Realms
I think both of these speak for themselves, really.Spells:
1x Blade of the Bloodchief - great niche pick that can easily spiral out of control4x Go For The Throat, 4x Ultimate Price, 1x Murderous Cut - a lovely suite of removal. I ran 4 kill spells originally, but found it to not be enough.
4x Sign in Blood - great card draw, don't usually care about the 2 life, and can even be used as a surprise finisher, all for 2 mana? What's not to like!?
Land:
Nice and easy here: 20 Swamps. Considering upping that number slightly, purely based on having some hefty priced bombs in the deck.Sideboard:
1x Blade of the Bloodchief - if you're against someone that clearly struggles to deal with Blade, add one more in!2x Necropolis Regent - Another great late game minion, works against creature-light decks
4x Exsanguinate - Can be used either as a finisher, or as a buffer against faster decks
2x Feast of Blood - If you're finding you're able to spam out vampires easily, side this in for easy removal
2x Doom Blade - because more kill spells is never a bad thing.
4x Urge to Feed - Removal/debuff and buffs? Yes please!
