This is a budget Commander deck built around the amazing Nymris, Oona’s Trickster. It could have been a boring counterspells-and-flash tribal, but I wanted to make it so much more! This deck is all about that amazing, giggly feeling you get when you meddle with your opponents and they can’t do anything about it.

STRATEGY:

Start the game off by making yourself look pathetic. Play some lands and maybe a mana rock or two, and politick your way out of being attacked. “Oh, but I’m so helpless, look at my miserable board state,” you say as you clutch onto a fistful of counterspells.

And then you drop Nymris, and all hell breaks loose.

Giggle in madness as you meddle with your opponents in every way thinkable! Counter their spells, and when they attack you in vengeance, bounce their creatures! Or better yet, drop a portal mage and send it at a different player, making even more enemies!

Once you’ve lost all your friends, your hysterical laughter will reach a crescendo! Steal their creatures! Destroy their creatures! Change the targets of their spells! Randomly shroud your creatures so they can’t even kill them back! And then end the game with a classic commander play and apologise to everyone at the table for the PTSD that they will have for the rest of their lives, triggered by the words “IN RESPONSE…”
