This list started its life as "30$ Ruric Thar" list that I ordered (that cost ~50€ at that time).
Soon after that I ordered a handful of upgrades to it, and have worked on small incremental upgrades ever since.
You can actually see all of my changes on the revisions page. I work on the list constantly, but I feel it's currently in a very good state at the moment.
The deck relies on getting to 5 (and more) mana in as few turns as possible, it then plays big good creatures and tries to just do its thing.
There a lot of tutors to find whatever you need for the spot and a good amount of removal to help with the general flow of the game (well... as good as you can get in Gruul with just creatures).
The number of noncreature spells is kept low (to maximize Nikya's effectiveness) but the amount seems to go up steadily and they're mostly focused on making our game steadier.
Depending on your playgroup, Ruric Thar might be a better commander as it slows down the more spell heavy decks by quite a lot (in that case I'd also add some other hate cards to the deck).
In my experience though, Ruric Thar makes you a too big of a target and Nikya is much better at letting you go run free, ten-ish mana on turn five-ish is pretty nice.
The deck is usually very weak to board wipes and spot removal... Thankfully this seems to be a much smaller problem in EDH than I'd have expected, and as long as you have Soul of the Harvest or a similar effect you should have your hand still full, but do expect to play some games in just top-deck mode. Such is Gruul life.
Our only actual infinite combo in the deck is Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Zealous Conscripts/Great Oak Guardian, sometimes you build it accidentally, other times you force it.
Nevertheless, these cards are very good in the deck even without the combo.
Whenever a card feels bad, I add it here, and whenever it feels bad again I add a dot vote as a + after the name.
This doesn't necessarily mean it felt bad when playing with it, just that I feel that it might not be good for the deck.
Cards with lots of votes are usually more likely to be cut for other cards when I do changes.
Most important cards of the deck, as these are the primary way for the deck to work without running out of gas.
Mostly about buffing all of your creatures to win the game.
The miscellaneous creatures, stuff that either doesn't cleanly fit the other categories or are just good creatures.
