This deck is a mid power casual variant on Atla Palani that seeks to focus on making huge creatures and running over opponents very quickly as opposed to trying to pull off one of a few loop combos like in cEDH builds of Atla. It has some additional protection and ramp elements as well due to my play group's extreme focus on removal and interaction. This deck won't pull off a win combo very often (I've only ever done it a few times), but it is extremely resilient and hard to stop, creating a serious damage threat on the board repeatedly and frequently. This deck tends to not care a whole lot about targeted removal because there are an excess of aggressive creature options to replace anything that gets taken out. To pilot it, you have 6 basic steps:

  1. Ramp
  2. Make eggs
  3. Break eggs
  4. Get big lads
  5. Smash faces
  6. Profit

Several synergies and combos exist in here, but the win combo is the Eldrazi titan/Mirror Entity loop combo. If you can get Mirror Entity on the field, you can stack up infinite activations of its ability at X = 0. This makes all creatures eggs, and all creatures which are entering off the death triggers will also be eggs. Keep in mind when you do this, you need to have a counter on Atla Palani or she'll die which ends the combo and actually puts you in a lot of trouble because all the incoming creatures will become victims of the infinite Mirror Entity activations. You can do this with The Great Henge (which actually counts on all your creatures, making some infinite draw/mana combos possible) or with Rhythm of the Wild/Stony Strength. All you need to win on the loop once it gets rolling is a damage outlet like Warstorm Surge.

Traverse the Outlands lets this deck get over half the creatures in the deck on the field in one turn due to Nesting Dragon.

I aimed for a variety pack of creatures that basically comprises a mixture of the best of big Naya creatures and some other random stuff I had laying in my binder. For this commander, it's not super important what creatures you choose, as long as they're big and you have ways to make eggs. I used basically only what I had laying around already, aside from the Egg nontoken creatures, and most of the money I spent to build this was in the sac outlets and artifact package. To build a similar deck you'll want a lot of ways to kill eggs, and definitely some ways to deal with grave hate, as any effect which exiles dying creatures rather than letting them die (like Rest in Peace) is effectively a shutdown to your goals. If the Egg tokens get exiled, this does not count as death, so you won't get to flip creatures from your deck. I have some good instants to deal with that in this deck, and enchantments like Aura Shards can give you options to deal with noncreature permanent threats repeatedly. Nice things to have include Scroll Rack (which is completely disgusting since you can build up a mass of big stuff in your hand and then swap it all into your deck) and Sensei's Divining Top to manipulate your top deck and help decrease the risk of drawing big creatures that you want to use triggers to get for free. In general you want to try and keep your large creatures out of your hand as much as possible when killing eggs, so anything to manipulate the top deck is good.

Most recent update: Removed Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and added Harmonic Prodigy.
