The Pretender (EDH / Commander)

▬▬Win Con - Ballista Counters▬▬
Setup ► Endling, Blood Vassal Caged and Walking Ballista in Hand, Graveyard or Caged
1) 1 B and Endling gives Undying to Mairsil, the Pretender.
2) Use Blood Vassal to sac Mairsil, the Pretender, netting BB mana.
3) Undying triggers and Mairsil, the Pretender ETB (For Walking Ballista if required) with a +1/+1 counter
4) Remove the counter with Walking Ballista to ping an opponent
→ Repeat the loop using BB in mana pool (netting B)

▬▬Win Con - Infect▬▬
Setup ► Pestilent Souleater and Heartless Hidetsugu in Cages and life total is 19 or less.
1) Give Mairsil, the Pretender infect with Pestilent Souleater using 2 Life or B
2) Tap Mairsil, the Pretender using Heartless Hidetsugu activation
→ Everyone receives poison counters equal to half their life total (Includes you)

▬▬Win Con - Consultation▬▬
Setup ► With UUB available, Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation in hand
1) Cast Thassa's Oracle
2) When Thassa's Oracle resolves, keep its ETB trigger on the stack
3) Respond by casting Demonic Consultation, naming card not in your deck, exiling entire Library
4) Allow Thassa's Oracle to resolve its ETB for the win

█Caged More Cages█
Mairsil, the Pretender requires multiple ETB's to be effective. Cage these cards provide that ability
→Aetherling = Number One Card in Deck - U to blink Mairsil, the Pretender for new cages or protection
→Pack Rat/Myr Propagator = Creates a copy of Mairsil, the Pretender that dies to legendary rule but still provides cage
→Ovinomancer + Target Creature = SheepRay a creature, Return to hand, protecting Mairsil, the Pretender and new cages by recasting
→Crystal Shard = 3 or U to return Mairsil, the Pretender to hand while providing protection for Mairsil, the Pretender and new cages by recasting
→Sensei's Divining Top = when caged provides protection for Mairsil, the Pretender and new cages by recasting
→Grinning Ignus = R to to return Mairsil, the Pretender to hand, protecting Mairsil, the Pretender and w/ 2R for new cages upon recast

→Riptide Laboratory = 1U to return Mairsil, the Pretender to hand

█Caged Wipe█
Setup ► Nevinyrral's Disk & AEtherling etc in a Cage
1) use (1) to activate Nevinyrral's Disk's ability
2) In response, Activate AEtherling etc
3) When the dust settles Mairsil, the Pretender returns to the Battlefield

█Caged Removal█
Setup ► Avatar of Woe / Royal Assassin in Cages
→Avatar of Woe = Tap to destroy target creature
→Royal Assassin = Tap to destroy tapped creature

█Caged Untap█
Mairsil, the Pretender requires multiple taps for additional activations. Cage these cards provide that ability
→Eater of the Dead = Exile Creature from Graveyard to Untap Mairsil, the Pretender
→Morphling = U to Untap Mairsil (also give Mairsil, the Pretender Shroud / Flying / Buffs)
→Pili-Pala = 2 to Untap Mairsil, the Pretender (But you get 1 of any color in exchange)
→Torchling = R to Untap Mairsil, the Pretender (also make something block Mairsil, the Pretender / Change target of a spell that targets Mairsil, the Pretender / Buffs)

▬▬Win Con - Tree Death▬▬
Setup ► Tree of Perdition and Hateflayer in Cages with (2)R free will remove one opponent (Blink / recast Mairsil, the Pretender to reset its toughness)
→Tree of Perdition + Hateflayer + (2)R to Kill one opponent

▬▬Win Con - Too Much Mana▬▬
Setup ► Quicksilver Elemental in a cage or not, Gilded Lotus and Morphling Caged, Mana win con in hand
NOTE: Quicksilver Elemental 's interaction with Mairsil, the Pretender is complicated and may require explanation to your pod
1) By rule every time you spend U and activate Quicksilver Elemental you get a fresh set of activations
2) With Gilded Lotus caged, tapping Mairsil, the Pretender produces 3 of one color
3) untap Mairsil, the Pretender (Morphling or Torchling etc)
4) Use one U from mana pool to activate Quicksilver Elemental allowing Mairsil, the Pretender to tap as Gilded Lotus/Coveted Jewel again netting 1 U per activation
NOTE Infinite U can be used to produce infinite R and B.
→ Use the infinite mana on Exsanguinate, Walking Ballista, Torment of Hailfire etc

▬▬Win Con - Counter Fun
NOTE: Anthroplasm needs 5 mana free or counters to produce Extra turns / Infinite mana to kill with Walking Ballista
NOTE: Phyrexian Devourer's 7 power limit trigger does not apply to Mairsil, the Pretender
Setup ► Anthroplasm and mana or Phyrexian Devourer, and Sage of Hours in Cages, Walking Ballista in Hand, Graveyard or Caged
1a) Anthroplasm + mana produces counters on Mairsil, the Pretender
1b) Phyrexian Devourer + Exile Top of Library produces counters on Mairsil, the Pretender
→ Remove 5 counters to take an extra turn with Sage of Hours and repeat the steps above. With all of the extra turns demonstrate a method to produce enough counters to win with Walking Ballista

▬▬Win Con - Blood Bond▬▬
Setup ► Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond in the battlefield
→Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond + any Opponent taking a damage and loop until all are dead
