To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Marchesa, or Mac & Cheese as she is dubbed in our play group, was my first deck ever. I have played it as a steal and sacrifice, aristocrat, and other styles, however this build is what I find is the most fun for me. I love this deck because it is how to build decks and play. I have so many good memories of learning rules interaction or finding new cards for it that I had no idea existed as a new player.
I would most closely associate it with a control build. I ramp up and start building a wall of ETB creatures that are very difficult to get rid of. I know I will typically be close to winning when I can open with ramp, an ETB creature that draws, a sac outlet, and way to get +1 counters without having to attack. All that's left to do then is either dropping a kokusho or gary and repeatedly killing them. It's a lot of things, but the deck continually surprises us on how consistently it gets all those pieces.
Biggest weaknesses are early fast aggro decks or enchantments in general. I try to hold up counters specifically to stop enchantments from landing (Darn you Grixis). If you can get to turn 5-6 with a decent board state you'll have a great chance of winning since everything you do is so difficult to remove, plus there are many ways to control your life total without having to attack.
All that said, it's not the top tier most competitive deck ever. I would probably rank it around a 6-7. This list is comprised on cards I own, obviously throwing in fetches, walking ballista, or the best black tutors would be ideal, however I am balling on budget and spending another 300 bucks on the best cards possible isn't realistic right now. Also I want to keep the deck on the same level so my play group and I still have a fun time each time we play instead of one person dominating the table all night. We try to play around 7 power level and typically don't play combos unless the game is going too long. Maybe someday I will grab a few adds and try to crank Mac & Cheese to 10, but for now I love playing this deck as is :)
I hope you all enjoy the list and try it for yourselves!
