The goal is to ramp (Growth Spiral, Incubation Druid) into copyable value creatures (Jadelight Ranger, Hostage Taker, Ravenous Chupacabra, Biogenic Ooze) and copy them (Quasiduplicate, Helm of the Host) allowing us to swing the the board state. Late game finishers include Hydroid Krasis, flipping Hadana's Climb // Winged Temple of Orazca, and mana sinks (Biogenic Ooze tokens, adapting Incubation Druid, playing cards stolen with Hostage Taker). A mana base with both shock- and check-lands allows us to play spells with UU, GG, or BB. The card draw from Growth Spiral and exploring (Merfolk Branchwalker, Jadelight Ranger), along with Incubation Druid, lets us cut to 22 lands.
Early game, we look to ramp using Growth Spiral and Incubation Druid. If we've whiffed on a ramp card, we can play Merfolk Branchwalker for an early body and to smooth out future draws. On T3, we have several options. If the opponent's board is light on threats, we can play an early Helm of the Host. Otherwise, we can ramp into either Hostage Taker or Ravenous Chupacabra to remove an early threat. If we're short on land, we can dig with Jadelight Ranger or duplicate an Incubation Druid. If we've drawn Hadana's Climb // Winged Temple of Orazca, we can put a counter on Incubation Druid and tap it to additionally play a Jadelight Ranger, Quasiduplicate, or Merfolk Branchwalker. On T4 we can either equip Helm of the Host to an Incubation Druid, ramp into Biogenic Ooze, or possibly Quasiduplicate our T3 play and play an additional 2 drop. If no other options, we can adapt an Incubation Druid on our opponent's turn. Late game, we can equip Helm of the Host on a value creature, play a large Hydroid Krasis, mass Quasiduplicate through the jump-start mechanic (discarding extra land drawn via Jadelight Ranger and Merfolk Branchwalker), or use our mana sinks (Biogenic Ooze, Incubation Druid, cards stolen with Hostage Taker, Hadana's Climb // Winged Temple of Orazca). Note that while using Quasiduplicate on Roalesk, Apex Hybrid will invoke the legend rule, we still benefit from the death trigger (and can order the death trigger and new ETB trigger in any order).
Against wide/aggro decks, we can slot in Find // Finality for Biogenic Ooze and Roalesk, Apex Hybrid for Ravenous Chupacabra. We take Roalesk, Apex Hybrid over Biogenic Ooze since he survives the board wipe while helping our other creatures do the same (with his counters). He also serves as a powerful threat in the air to go over their creatures. Against fast burn decks, we can swap in Wildgrowth Walker for Ravenous Chupacabra for the sustain and early scaling blocker. Playing (and duplicating) a Jadelight Ranger with this on board quickly stabilizes our health. Against enchantment and planeswalker heavy decks we can slot in Assassin's Trophy for Ravenous Chupacabra for the broad removal. Against heavy removal decks, we can slot in Muldrotha, the Gravetide for Helm of the Host to allow us to recur our important creatures (that get removed before we can copy them). We can also do this when slotting in Find // Finality to recur creatures that die to the board wipe.
