To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
A mono black reanimator deck surrounding Kokusho.
By no means, a competitive deck and comfortably sits at a 6/7 (5 being a recent precon) power level (depending on the driver) & loses Horribly in 1v1 matchups.
We need Kokusho to "Die" and go to the graveyard for its effect to go off. We need this to happen a lot.
The deck is meant to be played in groups, more players = bigger effects.
A very big drawback of the deck is once our opponents know what we are up to, we tend to get focused a lot. This usually ends up with another opponent nabbing up the win at the end by picking off the stragglers.
This means timing is key. Slowly build a board state and setup until an opportunity presents itself.
Typically the Deck wants to play out with a recursion source like "Nim death mantle" and a sac outlet like "Ashnods". With this and enough mana, we can really do some big life total swings. Doing this interaction 3 times only costs us 6 mana and Deals 15 damage to each opponent, netting us 45 life.
Many more of these type of interactions exists within the deck.
I find myself in a very strong Metta with many players seeking to go off and win outright on the spot. Whether being infinite combos or big swing combat. This leads to very little to no threat assessment, however, sins of the past will always haunt you. This makes for games that I just don't care about being the arch-enemy. This Deck MUST be dealt with or else will win again and again. If you like this playstyle or find yourself in a similar Metta. This deck might be for you.
