Hatch eggs, be a mother.

If you've not yet become acquainted with mom (Atla Palani, Nest Tender), allow me to introduce you. You're all about cheating out your large, beautiful children via eggs (and sometimes other ways). Out of the gate, prioritize casting mom. Get some protection for her asap, because anyone who's met her will target her. Once she's on the field, focus on creating eggs and try to get a sacrifice outlet in play. Keep in mind that you don't need to break eggs as soon as you make them. Breaking them right before your turn starts can be a nasty surprise for opponents, and having some on hand makes for good insurance against board wipes. Just be sure to hatch what you can before mom leaves the field if she's about to be removed - eggs that break when mom isn't around will be empty. Let's go over some key cards:

Open the Armory and Steelshaper's Gift can tutor for protection. If you already have protection, you can grab Thornbite Staff to increase egg output (note that mom is a shaman!).

Worldly Tutor and Congregation at Dawn should be used right after eggs break, but before their ability resolves. These cards ensure that the child or children you need will be the next to hit the field. Best to familiarize yourself with your wonderful variety of childrens.

If climate permits, the all-star child is Seedborn Muse. She enables you to create eggs every turn, not just on your turn. Nesting Dragon, the previous limelighter, deserves an honorable mention - dragon eggs count as eggs. Each one comes with a runt twin as a bonus.

For creative and potent omelet-I mean perfectly safe child delivery, look to Ghired's Belligerence and Indomitable Creativity. The former can be used to crack a number of eggs and, as long as one remains, you can repopulate all the eggs you just cracked. The latter can be used for double-child output - unless you hit artifacts, which is fine too.

Generally speaking, you don't want children in your hand. Some children can recur others from the graveyard, and you're usually hatching them from your deck anyway. That said, Ilharg, the Raze-Boar benefits from children in your hand. Additionally, Selvala's Stampede nearly requires children in hand, though it can also cheat out other permanents. To clarify on Selvala's Stampede: every wild vote guarantees you a scary child, so you'll likely always vote wild, while your opponents would be foolish to do so. Voting free is their only chance to not stare down the maximum number of children.

Happy hatching!
