Combo your way out of any situation with Borborygmos Enraged and his combolands!

This deck utilizes graveyard synergies and ramp spells to power out Borborygmos Enraged as soon as possible, ideally with a hand full of lands to bolt potential threats or opponents directly. More than one player may be wiped out, if you’re allowed to return all the lands from your graveyard using Creeping Renaissance or Praetor's Counsel. Lands like Glacial Chasm, Field of the Dead and Maze of Ith should keep your opponents at bay for a turn or two (in a pinch, Maze of Ith allows you to attack with Borborygmos Enraged to get more lands, and to remove him from combat before blocks occur). Remember to attach Keen Sense to Borborygmos Enraged to keep drawing gas (Rites of Spring fills your hand and graveyard with gas).

In prolonged games, the deck is more than able to win with its board alone - Omnath, Locus of Rage, Avenger of Zendikar, Field of the Dead and Titania, Protector of Argoth can all swarm the board with tokens. Kessig Wolf Run also encourages this strategy.

While there are more green than red cards, I have chosen to include more mountains, mainly to enable the Valakut combo (Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle + Scapeshift). Valakut is relatively easy to find with cards like Sylvan Scrying or Realms Uncharted; Scapeshift can be returned from the graveyard to your hand using Skullwinder or Praetor's Counsel. Thespian's Stage and Mirage Mirror can copy Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle to double the damage output; Furnace of Rath serves a similar purpose (however be mindful of its symmetrical effect). Having Dryad of the Ilysian Grove on the battlefield while casting Scapeshift results in a storm of triggers, since suddenly all lands you search for are a Mountain for Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle as well.

Other notable combos include the Punishing Fire combo (Punishing Fire + Grove of the Burnwillows), the Marit Lage combo (Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage / Mirage Mirror), copying any permanent including commanders (Song of the Dryads + Thespian’s Stage / Vesuva), and the land destruction lock (Strip Mine / Wasteland + Crucible of Worlds / Ramunap Excavator); however, I often find myself discovering new ways to pilot this deck. This flexibility is facilitated by a careful collection of the following tutor effects:

Crop Rotation - Instant-speed land tutor; thanks to the graveyard synergies, the sacrifice cost doesn’t hurt the deck (it might even serve as a bonus).
Realms Uncharted - The ability to search for 4 different lands sets up several combos, especially since the deck is more than able to return lands from the graveyard to your hand. Petrified Field should always be one of the 4 tutored lands, since it ensures that you get the land you need.
Gamble - Gamble is able to tutor any card (including non-land cards) at instant speed. Discarding the tutored card usually doesn’t pose a problem.
Sylvan Scrying - A simple and elegant land tutor.
Elvish Reclaimer - Crop Rotation on a stick, and an ideal early turn play.
Ulvenwald Hydra - Apart from being a land tutor, it serves as a very good blocker.
Nylea's Intervention - A tutor for multiple lands that can also serve as a removal spell.

Thanks to the graveyard synergies, cards like Life from the Loam, Petrified Field and Crucible of Worlds also serve as pseudo-tutors.

This deck is definitely not a budget deck, however, it is not constructed with only power level in mind - the most important aspects of the deck (in my view) are flexibility and good and fun gameplay. I genuinely love playing this deck, as the games never get stale; it is also a great deck to play against. Johnnies/Jennies are best accustomed to playing this deck, however, the deck is powerful and competitive enough to appease Spikes, and there are plenty of big creatures, spells and effects for Timmies/Tammies to enjoy as well.
