This deck started out back in 2013 as a Prossh, Skyraider of Kher deck; it is one of my older surviving decks. Recently I started to feel like there was always only one correct line of play - cast Prossh - which is why I opted for Tana, the Bloodsower and Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools as my new commanders of choice.
Jund colours are often associated with the “aristocrats”, aka the sacrifice theme, and this deck stays true to that notion. Both commanders were chosen for their ability to provide tokens as fodder. Profit from all the sacrificing by drawing cards (Smothering Abomination), draining opponents (Zulaport Cutthroat, Syr Konrad, the Grim), killing creatures (Mayhem Devil), or making mana (Pitiless Plunderer). Don’t forget that you can kill your opponents’ creatures by stealing them with Helm of Possession or Zealous Conscripts and sacrificing them.
The deck has also been constructed to allow you to scale up your creatures using Birthing Pod and Vivien on the Hunt, including going from CMC 0 (token cost) to 1 (Viscera Seer, Birds of Paradise, Skirk Prospector, Goblin Chirurgeon). Furthermore, it includes a Goblin tribal theme, which allows you to tutor for a toolbox using Moggcatcher, Goblin Matron, Goblin Recruiter and Boggart Harbinger.
The deck includes 3 main infinite combos:
1) Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Zealous Conscripts: produces infinite creatures with haste.
2) Murderous Redcap + Grumgully, the Generous/Rhythm of the Wild + free sac outlet: infinite damage and infinite effects stapled to the sac outlet.
3) Boggart Harbinger/Goblin Recruiter + Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Conspicuous Snoop: infinite copies of the Conspicuous Snoop with haste.
You can win with commander damage, by way of infinite combos, simply overwhelming your opponents with an army of creatures, or any combination of the above. The sheer flexibility and tenacity of this deck allow you to adapt to any situation and rebuild from any board wipe your opponents throw at you.
