Alesha, Who Smiles at Death (EDH / Commander)

Alesha Combo/Control/Reanimator. One of my favorite decks. Often gets overlooked or underestimated at the table, but is very powerful, fast & also fun. Basic idea is control the table through removal & stax/hatebears pieces while you assemble one of the wincons/combos (listed below). Deck is suprisingly resilient...thanks to all the reanimation & recursion...and plays well against pretty much everything EXCEPT static GY hate (leyline of the void, rest in peace, anafenza the foremost, etc). Deck can even win via combat & survive in longer, grindier games...but the main goal is still to hit one of the following scenarios:

• Master of Cruelties one shot kill. There are a number of different opening hands (thanks to all of our loot/draw cards & GY tutors) that allow us to pull this off T2 & 3.

• Anafenza Kin-Tree Spirit + Murderous Redcap + any sac outlet. Infinite damage to the face thanks to Anafenza bolstering the Redcap when it comes back from undying.

• Animate Dead + Leonin Relic Warder + Altar of Dementia (or) Goblin Bombardment (or) any free sac outlet with an aristocrat damage piece on the board (Blood Artist, Judith the Scourge Diva, Bastion of Remembrance).

• Karmic Guide + Reveillark + Goblin Bombardment (or) Bastion of Remembrance (or) Altar of Dementia. Infinite damage or mill.

• Karmic Guide + Reveillark + Gonti, Lord of Luxury + any free sac outlet. Infinite library exile.

Recent set additions such as Skyclave Apparition & Jeweled Lotus have been homeruns for this deck. Like I said...Alesha is one of my favs. Both because of her power, but also this deck is just fun (although not so much for the rest of the table, especially if you get Skyclave Apparition or Avalanche Riders looping). My LGS is a very spikey, competitive scene...and this deck fights with the best of them, and even won the league one month. Anyway, thanks for coming to my TedTalk, 😆
