This is my K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth deck. There are many like it, but this one is mine. I'm definitely a black mage at heart (as you could probably surmise from my decklists), and this is the deck I've been play-testing & tuning the longest & most frequently (essentially ever since the C19 products came out..which is right around when I started playing EDH exclusively). My version of K'rrik occupies an interesting niche; it's definitely not casual...but it's also not the full-bore "black hole sun", ad naus/peer abyss version either. It's kind of between them, and is basically as fast & powerful as I can reasonably get it, while still being "fun" for me. I have the cards, but I just don't find the ad naus or doomsday wins rewarding for some reason (just a personal preference...not hating on folks who do). I do on the other hand find the Bolas's Citadel + Divining Top + Aetherlazer and Mike & Trike combos fun, so they're both here. Exquisite Blood & Sanguine Bond are also present (or alternatively...exquisite blood with Vito out), although I usually don't try to assemble or dig for those two....if it happens naturally though, it happens. I also run Sorin Markov, because I can't not...pet card situation. Otherwise, if the match ends up going into the medium or long game, this deck is plenty able to function there...which is the other reason I didn't build it full-on ad naus/doomsday. Those decks are great (again, not trying to hate on them), but if those combos get disrupted at all or you swing & miss on them...you're just dead & that's it. Those strategies are more glass-cannon than I typically like. I wanted mine to be a little more resilient, and full of "good stuff black" & giant evil beater creatures, etc. There's also plenty of incidental life gain & drain, GY recursion, opposing GY hate, etc. This deck is strong, borderline or casually competitve, and good against almost everything except enchantment & artifact heavy stax (it's mono black afterall). Ok, thank you for coming to my TedTalk :)
