To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
With Xyris, any wheel you cast during your turn, assuming 3 opponents, will give you 21 snake tokens. Tutor for Purphorous early and be prepared to protect Xyris, bam! 42 damage to each opponent's face. You've got a good amount of red mana symbols so in case Purphorous gets bounced you have Impact Tremors and Whitty Roastmaster to back you up OR just enhance the pain if you can get them all out...in case you're counting that's 84 damage in the face of each opponent per wheel.
Power level you ask? Well, every group has its own system for determining power level, in mine on a scale of 1-10 (jenk to cEDH) I would rate this a solid 7, considering that we reserve 8-9 for very fast infinite combo decks. It's a fun build to pilot and considering card/deck prices lately it's a pretty darn good way to access a good 'casually' competitive deck for the money. Put it up against the big decks in your group and you be the judge, most of all have fun...especially watch your opponent's face melt with Purphorous, the Twin Casters, Essence Warden, on the battlefield. If you really enjoy watching opponents vomit on themselves wait until you announce damage with Altar of the Brood and/or Mindcrank out.
I KNOW the sideboard is not legal. These were my final-final cuts to get down to this build and I left them in there because I did most of the heavy lifting for you in identifying cards. So take that intel and swap cards out and make this build your own to suit your playstyle or group. I try to build financially 'realistic' decks so you very well might have a better mana base or Wheel of Fortune to add, I don't, but have at it if you do! I also tend to move in and out Doubling Season...this build doesn't have a lot of +1 counters so sometimes I'll save the cost of my curve and run the Twincasters instead.
Have fun and enjoy everyone!!!
