To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Obeka copycat deck that I tried to keep relatively reasonably priced. Basically the idea of the deck is to use and abuse Obeka's end turn ability to nullify end step mechanics. The main way this deck utilizes that is by cheating out creatures and tokens while you build up to an infinite combo or create enough tokens to overwhelm your opponent while also throwing in a little bit of fun graveyard and extra turn play.
Our first goal of the deck is to cheat out or steal creatures and build up a solid board state. Cards such as Sneak Attack and Ilharg, the Raze-Boar allow you to cheat out tons of creatures really fast regardless of their cost, while cards like Puppeteer Clique and Zara, Renegade Recruiter allow you to steal other peoples cards and of course keep them via Obeka. While not quite as good as stealing, cards like Phyrexian Metamorph, Protean Raider, and Cryptoplasm allow you to copy whatever creature you deem most useful already on the battlefield.
Just as important as cheating and stealing creatures is our token generation. Cards like Blade of Selves, Flameshadow Conjuring and Feldon of the Third Path allow you to build up tokens while Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer gives you the ability to make all of your tokens a copy of your strongest token, To throw in a little more fun while keeping with the theme, Hate Mirage, Mimic Vat and Heat Shimmer allow you to copy opponents creatures to turn into tokens.
Next we will go over the secondary mechanics of the deck, namely the graveyard and extra turn shenanigans, but also some of the misc cards thrown in as well. Sedris, the Traitor King and Araumi of the Dead Tide allow us to revive any key creatures that might die early on, while Wake to Slaughter and Cauldron Dance gives you extra ways to cheat out creatures from your graveyard or hand. Going into the extra turn aspect, Alchemist's Gambit and Final Fortune give us extra turns while Obeka allows us to NOT immediately die after the next turn, although for reasons that will be explained further on, holding onto Final Fortune might be a better move than casting it right away. While not giving you extra turns, Glorious End, Sundial of the Infinite and Discontinuity can get you out of some pretty tricky situations whether that be from having your Obeka removed or from someone else about to have a monster turn. Onto the misc side of things, we have Mnemonic Betrayal which can be a game winner if you have the infinite mana combo out and Anger which is honestly just a nice card to have, especially if you need to get Obeka out.
Finally we will talk about the the combos, the real punch of this deck. Final Fortune + Isochron Scepter + Obeka = infinite turns. Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Zealous Conscripts = infinite creature tokens with haste. Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Pestermite = infinite flying creature tokens with haste. Freed from the Real + Fatestitcher + Izzet Boilerworks/Dimir Aqueduct = infinite red/black mana. Freed from the Real + Fatestitcher + Lotus Field = infinite colored mana. Archaeomancer + Final Fortune + Feldon of the Third Path + Obeka = infinite turns + infinite tokens.
Some final points of interest. Mystic Sanctuary can be used to bring back an important instants/sorcery and Flame Blitz is good to throw in if you're going up against a superfriends deck. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! Trying not to add cards that break the bank too much.
