To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Pauper EDH (PDH) is an alternative format that uses any uncommon creature as the commander, and the 99 are commons. Technically this deck is EDH legal too!
Slimefoot, the Stowaway is a golgari commander that pings opponents when saprolings die so the deck aims to make a ton of saprolings, casting Slimefoot & saccing them all. Once slimefoot hits the board the rest of the combo is at instant speed, so all we need to protect is our saproling spawners.
One exception is if we have Snake Umbra, if attached to Slimefoot, every saproling sacrificed means we draw 1 card per opponent, very potent.
To spawn saprolings we run the whole set of Thallids with this mechanic:
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a spore counter on Vitaspore Thallid.
Remove three spore counters from Vitaspore Thallid: Create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token.
One notable spawner is the Sporoloth Ancient that reduces the spore cost down to 2 for every thallid.
Since we're only interested in the saprolings for the commander combo, we can let the Thallids accumulate spore counters, and then cash in when we're ready. Fortunately most of the Thallids also function as sacrifice outlets. Proliferate is worth considering, but I've only included Grim Affliction.
Another great saproling spawner is Night Soil, which also functions as graveyard hate. A great mana-sink if there's creatures in graveyards. Another great mana-sink is Sprout Swarm.
In PDH there's very few boardwipes, most spells do 1-3 damage to all creatures, so keeping ours above that number is important. For that we have Spidersilk Armor and cards like Crown of Vigor, Wrap in Vigor and Wail of the Nim. For individual creatures there's Broken Fall. And if a Thallid is targeted, we can "cash out" on the spores before it dies for a saproling or two.
To help the gameplan along the deck runs a lot of ramp and a lot of draw, and both creature & non-creature removal. I'm unsure about the included Crypt Rats & Gangrenous Zombies but hypothetically they can kill creatures while keeping ours intact.
Weaknesses of the deck are board wipes and flying decks since our only source of reach is Spidersilk Armor.
