To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Pauper EDH is an alternative format that uses any uncommon creature as the commander and the 99 are commons.
This golgari deck is helmed by Halana, Kessig Ranger and Tormod, the Desecrator.
The deck utilizes Halana's ability by running a ton of cheap deathtouch units, essentially rendering them a 3-4 mana destroy spell with a body. Neat stuff.
We also run Tormod who can easily create a board with the amount of graveyard interaction we run as well be part of a few different combos.
Here's some combo lines:
Tormod + Ashnod's Altar + Rancor + mana filtering (Prismite / Stonework Packbeast / Signpost Scarecrow) + Falkenrath Noble
Tormod + Ashnod's Altar + Tortured Existence + mana filtering ( Prismite / Stonework Packbeast / Signpost Scarecrow) + Falkenrath Noble / (Extort from Basilica Screecher / Syndicate Enforcer + Initiates of the Ebon Hand / Bog Initiate)
Tormod + Ashnod's Altar + Myr Retriever + Workshop Assistant + Falkenrath Noble / Disciple of the Vault / (Extort from Basilica Screecher / Syndicate Enforcer + mana filtering)
Tormod + Ashnod's Altar + Grim Harvest + Initiates of the Ebon Hand / Bog Initiate + Falkenrath Noble (I believe it's mana neutral so can't extort)
As you can see Ashnod's Altar is integral to all the combos I can think of, and with no way to tutor for it you have to control the board until you draw it. For that we run Crypt Rats, Gangrenous Zombies, Evincar's Justice, Pestilence, the Helena deathtouch synergy and Snuff Out.
You also need to dig through your deck so we run plenty of draw, cycle lands and some recursion in case combo pieces are removed.
We run some ramp; Mind Stone, Commander's Sphere, Bonder's Ornament, Cultivate and Kodama's Reach sort of replace themselves, card-wise.
The main point of the deck was to try out Helena's ability but the Tormod combos are interesting as well, if you want to go all in on combo there's definitely better partners.
Weaknesses of the deck are graveyard hate & artifact hate since Ashnod's Altar is so integral though we have Fortuitous Find which can help. Spidersilk Armor gives us reach & with our plentiful removal flying shouldn't be too much of an issue. The deck kind of wants Tormod in play for a lot of our cards, but he's a big target & we need him for most of our combos so a costly commander tax isn't ideal. We have Whispersilk Cloak, Broken Fall & Fortitude (can almost replace Rancor in a combo) for protection but it's not a lot.
