To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Pauper EDH is an alternative format that uses any uncommon creature as the commander, and the 99 are commons.
This izzet deck is powered by Nivix Guildmage, a one man combo machine.
The game plan is to get infinite mana, cycle through our deck with Nivix, find any source of damage, infinitely copy the damage with Nivix.
For infinite mana the easy solution is to copy Dramatic Reversal with a bunch of mana rocks on the board.
Alternative solutions are copying High Tide twice, then copying Hidden Strings / Toils of Night and Day repeatedly.
There's also the possibility to alternate between copying Mana Geyser & copying Hidden Strings / Toils of Night and Day, depending on how tapped out our opponents are.
Last but not least we can splice Desperate Ritual onto Toils of Night and Day, then copy it repeatedly.
Frantic Search can substitute Toils / Strings in a combo until you find one of them. Otherwise you'll mill yourself out.
Okay, once we have infinite mana we can just use Nivix' second ability to cycle through our deck until we hit a source of targeted damage, namely: Fireball, Lightning Bolt, Rolling Thunder, Disintegrate or Deep Analysis (mills opponents). We can also get any of these back from our graveyard with Flood of Recollection.
To keep our combo safe we have a ton of counterspells and Clout of the Dominus, Whispersilk Cloak and Neurok Stealthsuit. Alexi's Cloak is worth considering.
To keep ourselves safe we run a ton of removal. Along with the burn spells mentioned earlier we have Circle of Flame, Fade Away, Fall from Favor, Fiery Cannonade, Deep Freeze and Swirling Sandstorm.
To get our combo pieces we have a lot of draw, notably Thoughtcast and Treasure Cruise are great copy targets and Thrill of Possibility doesn't require additional discards if copied. We also run a bunch of tutors that can grab missing combo pieces, protection or removal.
Weaknesses of the deck can be very aggressive decks that apply pressure while we're trying to get our ramp going, we don't require our graveyard for our combos but counterspells can still be an issue, try to play around it by comboing while opponents are tapped, or you have counterspells of your own.
I've omitted Rhystic Study & Mystic Remora, if you wish to run them, go ahead. I also decided to drop the Trinket Mage package (artifact lands, relic of progenitus, viridian longbow) but if your meta demands pings / graveyard hate, try to fit it in. Similarly I'm not running Gorilla Shaman, Smash & similar removal in order to speed up the combo, if you need 'em, run 'em!
