My latest Pauper deck, mostly taken from https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3736985#paper, though I'm really looking forward to testing and adapting myself. It looks like a really fun way to play the Cascade cards, a deck full of value with some lovely synergy. Plus I've got to love any deck which uses Coiling Oracle!
Comments and suggestions appreciated.
The deck is full of creatures which give you card advantage, either by a simple cantrip, ramp, or the headlining cascade cards.
The new snow duals synergise with Wood Elves and of course enable Skred in a 3-colour shell. Green is the core colour (and allows Wood Elves to fix what you're missing) so all duals contain green.
Ash Barrens provides access to any missing colour, or can come in untapped for colourless if you have all three colours already and just want to curve out. Importantly, it also ends up in the graveyard as a target for Pulse of Murasa if needed.
Brainstorm does excellent work setting up cascades; a planned Annoyed Altisaur -> Boarding Party -> Mulldrifter is just beautiful. If casting the turn before it only sets up one (as you'll draw the other card put back by Brainstorm), but that's still good. It performs better in that role than early card selection, though using it prior to casting Coiling Oracle to ensure you get the ramp can be nice too.
Early ramp (which comes with in-built 1/1 chump blockers) and Skred for removal should get you to the point of casting your cascade spells, giving you power and card advantage. Pulse of Murasa gets a threat back and gives you a buffer for the life you'll likely use whilst setting up. Weather the Storm is the other life gain, and very efficient, though mostly relegated to the sideboard due to the inherent card disadvantage.
The remaining Weather the Storm are here as mentioned, for aggressive decks. Gaining 9 life say, with counters only affecting part, is really efficient.
Hydroblast needs no introduction, and I would have Pyroblast too if I owned the cards. Dispel is there for the moment in that spot.
Fiery Cannonade hits our early bodies, but against wide strategies like Elves that's a minor downside to what is simply a very powerful card for the format.
Blow Your House Down is rather niche, but a neat bit of tech vs Walls Combo.
Natural Reclamation I'm not optimistic about, but I thought it worth testing. It hits both artefact or enchantment, and you can get value from the cascade, though it's not so impactful as the higher CMC cascade spells. Ancient Grudge would be good vs Affinity, though I don't own any of the good enchantment hate to replace that side. Gleeful Sabotage might be a good idea.
