Azorius Control is one of the first decks I ever built. It's just incredibly satisfying to be able to control your opponent and shape the game the way you want. How fun it is when you can send a powerful spell into the graveyard with a simple counterspell :) Just great ! On top of the fear that opponents have when they see we have 2 mana open, there are the Exile effects that remove troublesome creatures, artifacts, entchantments or planeswalkers from the game. This combination of fearing the opponents and controlling the action makes this deck one of the best and most fun :)

>Deck explained

>main idea/strategy

  • The idea of the deck is as simple as it is clear: to be in control of the game the whole time and to win the game in the end. Everything we don't want on the field is countered, exiled or sent back to the hand.

A very defensive play style that becomes more effective the longer the game goes on. The longer the game goes on, the more we gain control over it and that's what we want to achieve. That's why we try to survive the first 4 turns at all costs and not to fall behind too much. Once we have done that, the chances are good that we will take control of the game from the back. Once the opponent runs out of steam, he has basically already lost the game. It is then only a matter of time that the opponent gives up, or we defeat him with our few finishers.

>creatures

  • We're kind of just playing two creatures that serve to make our spells more efficient. Snapcaster Mage allows us to play our Instant and Sorceries from our graveyard, which multiplies the spells we already play, while Solitude provides a mini-finisher to deal with creatures early in the game. If in doubt, we can exile a creature on turn 0, which is sometimes necessary, but the exile effect is also a useful side effect later on.est

> protection

  • basically, the whole deck is designed to protect us XD nevertheless, the different types of protection here are divided into different categories to understand what is particularly good for what. But one thing is certain: we have a solution for everything :)
