To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Here is the reworked version of my Abzan midrange deck.
After i finished the deck so far it was time for some playtesting. I quickliy realized that the deck needed a lot of work to get better because there were a lot of things to fix.
i played against a variaty of modern decks in paper and the deck has a critical problem against tokens since its running only single target removal.
Also there were a lot of false friends i my deck that played of good and seemed well to work but after some hourse i realized that in total what they did was just redundent so i kicked em out.
i was constantly outplayed by cards who are generating a player card advantage like caslte loctwain or Arena so i searched for a solution. I added bobs to the list and Bob is just Stupidly good in a practical match. first i passed on cards who grant me advantage - i was thinking about bobs first but i wanted to go more on a beat down strategy. i completly underrestemated how strong card advantage is if a game goes on and then i finally came up with this list right here.
let me know if you find something else.
i stick with sarul because the card is just amazing so i added another one in my sidedeck. reall recommend to try him - he is a card thats really a thread against all decks who try to play out cheap stuff like birds, land enchantments or tokens.
not even is he making the opponent thinking twice about fetching, he gets rid of stuff permanently by exiling it. a very very well desinged card.
the Deck also plays Drmokas Command to edict Heliod players. I find it better than vanishing verse because you dont need to worry about other permanents since abrubt decay will eat em alive... but heliod is a problem and command is more flexible by also distributing counters and is eh oke against a burn deck. I know i usually Hate train dromokas command but only because i think the card is (out of this Specific matchup against a heliod deck) very weak because you need a creature in play to use its full potential and if you arent having one the card sits dead in your hand forever.
I play 2 Kayas guile instead of one gyle and a pulse like lots of other decks do because it grands you way more flexibility. im very sure that mode cards like this or the new commands will define and replace a lot of old cards by saving space in your sideboard. Drasic removals like Demnation and Engineerd explosives are probably outdated. You rather want to play a good card that can trade you a 2 for one in any situation and there are enough creatures and other permanents with activated abilities who can outvalue a demnation or something. those are cards for the sideboard if you like them. i threw em out entirely we will see if that was a good plan or if im mistaken here.
