To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
This deck's main design is to control the hand and destroy any lands relied upon by your opponent.
Opening ideally starts with 1 or 2 swamps with cards on the mana cost curve. Best move is to play Inquisition of Kozilek or Harsh Scrutiny to look at the hand of the opponent and make them discard the biggest threat. Scrutiny is valuable due to the scry feature as well as the ability to remove any early creature threats as this deck runs 0 creatures. We side board Thoughtseize and Duress against other decks that do not run creatures to eliminate spell threats mostly removing Ensnaring Bridge a powerful stop to creature pressure.
The main draw power comes from Sword-Point Diplomacy which can do up to 9 damage to the opponent or draw us 3 cards for 3 mana.
The goal is to reduce the opponent to top deck draw strategy. We can make them discard a variety of ways but Shrieking Affliction and Liliana's Caress makes them pay. Smallpox hits enemy hard but not us as we have no creatures, and can return land with Crucible of Worlds. Also, we can use Field of Ruin and Ghost Quarter over and over to utterly destroy the opponents mana base.
One of the most fun ways to make a person discard is by using Geier Reach Sanitarium.
This deck is nasty and relentless.
Feedback is welcome. Please like and give credit for the design. Enjoy!
Budget:
Liliana Vess instead of Liliana of the Veil
Yahenni's Expertise instead of Ensnaring Bridge
Swamp instead of Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
Duress instead of Crucible of worlds
