Currently, it's my main deck, it's a really cheap deck to assemble and above all, it's a lot of fun because it allows for different strategies depending on the game. In my case, I've chosen two mechanics that work very well together, mutate and auras with some cheap instant, thanks to Ivy we'll be able to double the value of our cards by using them with other creatures.
Note: The cards in the sideboard are cards that I plan to add to the deck as soon as I get them. In the mayboard cards are the ones I am considering whether it's worth adding them or not. Obviously, you are free to change whichever you want and adapt them to both your needs and your playstyle.
Mutate has good synergy with Ivy, even though they are creature spells. When casting them with the mutate cost, it triggers Ivy's effect since it's a spell that targets only one creature, allowing us to mutate and triggers effects doubly per turn.
Mutating is the reason why there are clone cards. When Ivy mutates, the name, types, and subtypes become those of the card placed on top of Ivy, while retaining its ability. Therefore, if Ivy mutates into Gemrazer, Ivy will become a 'Creature - Beast' and won't be considered legendary, allowing us to clone it to multiply the value of our enchantments and other mutate cards
Be careful, because a cloned creature that has been mutated will copy all the cards that make up that creature and its abilities. However, if you clone Auspicious Starrix, it will be considered as if it hasn't mutated at all, so its mutation counter will be zero.
Also, keep in mind that if a mutated card is returned to your hand, all the cards that form that creature are returned to your hand as well. However, cards mutated with Ivy are tokens, and when they leave the battlefield, they disappear.
The strategy is simple: there's a good stack of cheap creatures, all of them waiting to receive their corresponding buffs. We're interested in low-cost creatures with protection, such as Slippery Bogle, creatures thath can't be blocked, like Invisible Stalker, or creatures that do interesting things when targeted, such as Stormchaser Drake or Venerated Rotpriest.
Try not stack all buffs on a single creature. You can buff one with mutate spells, another with enchantments. If you focus all buffs on a single creature, it will become a prime target for your opponents immediately. So, play calmly to create many small threats. As for Ivy, you don't have to worry; she takes all the buffs.
Each game is different; in some, you'll draw many enchantments, and in others, many mutate cards. Adapt to what you draw and have fun!
Venerated Rotpriest is simple mechanically, but it allows you to add poison counters as you buff your creatures. With Ivy's effect, we can add two counters at once (or more depending on how many Venerated Rotpriests and Ivys have been copied).
For example, if they cast a Path to Exile on it, it will generate a poison counter, then activate Ivy's effect so that she also receives the Path to Exile, generating another poison counter. Afterward, you can cast Tamiyo's Safekeeping or Tyvar's Stand on Venerated Rotpriest and copy it with Ivy, generating two more counters and protecting both creatures.
There's not much to say about this card; ramp as much as you can, hit with your unblockables or flyers, and when it's the damage phase, cast Colossification or Corrupted Conscience and win the game.
A very good card with Mutate or Enchantments. If the game drags on, check your graveyard and decide what you want to recover, Mutates or Enchantments, depending on what you've played during the match.
Even though I don't have this card yet, it should be a must-have. The enchantments copied by Ivy are considered tokens and can be tapped for mana thanks to Jaheira, Friend of the Forest.
Having Spellwild Ouphe in your opening hand can be very intimidating to your enemies. With Sol Ring, it allows you to have two Archipelagore out by turn 4. It can force your opponents to spend resources very early in the game or simply overwhelm them if the conditions are right. Keep in mind that your opponents will also have their spell costs reduced by two mana when casting spells.
Currently, there are already quite a few different mechanics within the deck, and I've preferred to choose cards that always synergize with Ivy. There are no counters, so be careful. However, there are a couple of cards available to clear a threat on the board, such as Aether Gale, Gemrazer, and Sawtusk Demolisher. The latter two are much more effective with Ivy since we can multiply the effect depending on how many Ivys are on the battlefield.
I've preferred using cantrips to defend our creatures since they are very cheap, and we can always protect Ivy with them. For example, Tamiyo's Safekeeping, Tyvar's Stand, Swiftfoot Boots, Gaea's Gift, or Royal Treatment.
