> Deck history

Let's spend few words about this deck, even if the strategy is pretty flat (in words): drop miirym, then unleash your dragons!

The original version of this deck was meant to be a 4fun, but then fell down into the abyss of optimization game after game, goldfish after goldfish.
Consider that the original base of this deck was the dragon precon from Forgotten Realms commanders, converted and adapted to handle Miirym.
In my original vision, it had to slowly scale up... but when you handle ETB effects capable of scale up in 1 turn, I quickly discovered how potentially dangerous was this archetype to mass-kill an entire table even without so many optimizations.

So at a point I drew a line: since I love this deck, let's specialize it in doing it's job as fast and stable as possible!

To keep this goal I had to renounce removals and any control, in order to keep a solid clock of the deck.

> Typical turn

A typical game of this deck have this form:

  • T1, T2, T3 = ramp and/or 1 tool enchant
  • T4/T5 = mandatory Miirym in game
  • T5/T6 = setup a dragon to enstablish a board presence and/or main strategy
  • T6/T7 = FINISH

It's not rare that the finish coincide with the setup, just depends on how much ramp we got.

> Tricks of the deck

Defense of the Heart calls

Spark Double + etb damage (Terror of the Peaks or Scourge of Valkas )

You target miirym with the double, then enjoyy the show

Astral Dragon + etb damage dragon or clone creature

If you have Dragon Tempest , Cursed Mirror or Warstorm Surge in play, astral is autowin... just pick a clone creature if you need more miirym to round up the damage

This deck appears to be legal in EDH / Commander.
