My attempt at an improved Naru Meha, Master Wizard combo. This time in Izzet (technically Grixis) instead of Mono-U.
I think the deck will see more consistency in Izzet colors since that allows us to play Beamsplitter Mage, which, while fragile, allows us to combo off turns earlier and lends a bit more resilience to the deck.
On a perfect draw, you can play Opt turn 1, Drowned secrets turn 2, Beamsplitter turn 3, Naru Meha turn 4, then, turn 5, you can play Release to the Wind, targeting Beamplitter, make the copy target Naru Meha, combo out. This also lets you leave up mana for Expansion or Wizards Retort to counter any counters. If you cant find Beamsplitter, you can also Release to the Wind on Naru Meha, cast Expasion on release to the wind and combo that way.
I haven't tested this out yet but I think the additional avenues opened up by Beamsplitter Mage and Expansion make the splash worth looking into. By recommendation, I have added Diamond Mare as a secondary Payoff for the combo. You should have no problem milling your opponent if you have infinite life.
