To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
This is a super basic deckbuilding template. Take this as a STARTING point.
Start with the Win Con all figured out.
If you go up or down from these numbers, have a reason to do so, such as "I only need 5 ramp spells because my mana curve tops out at 3"
If you dont play blue, the counterspell category turns into more spot removal and board wipes.
I hope you're saying: "But this is too few 'super cool cards' that I want to play with that don't really fit into these categories!"
First, you're right, play fewer of those if you are wanting to be more competitive. If you're not, don't worry about it!
Second, I bet your "super cool card" DOES fit into one of those in one way or another. So don't be afraid to call Goblin Game a ramp spell in your Neheb, the Eternal deck.
Lastly, the true pro play is to find cards that overlap these categories and function as both, thus freeing up a slot!
