Control opponents field (creatures for the most part). gain life, slowly tick at theirs, or even burst them down with some good Languish+Cutthroat combos.

Card Explanations:
Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim - quick life gain, sacrifice creatures (combos well with Cutthroat and Dutiful Attendant). Powerful field control with second ability. When push comes to shove, she has deathtouch for blocking.

Dutiful Attendant - A little help against mill and in-case you need to bring something else back.

Erebos's Titan - Only decently big creature in terms of power/toughness. Indestructible when opponent has no creatures makes him very powerful once the deck starts picking up steam or opponent has a week field early. Gives Mardu a bit of late game utility. His 5 toughness and ability to be brought back to hand makes him a pretty good sacrifice for Ayli when trying to start snowballing or in desperate need for life.

Hangarback Walker - Can be a potent late game threat and early game body. Can be a good sacrifice target for Ayli while providing some more bodies to sacrifice or block with (only protection against flyers). Languish will wipe your field except for Titan and a 10 mana Hangarback so his token spawns will help keep field pressure after a wipe.

Knight of the White Orchid - Just a great creature overall. With first strike and 2/2 for 2W, hes a decent early game body which is needed since the deck is not amazing early. Helps with ramp and gaining advantage due to plains search. Can't ask for much more. Good for turn 3.

Despise + Mardu Woe-Reaper - Your turn 1 and 2. Despise to make a good hand become meh. Turn 2 Mardu for some life and a body. Mardu also useful for bringing back Titan to hand during the later game.

Zulaport Cutthroat + Palace Siege -Your damage. Palace is good sustained damage/life gain and Zulaport is good for both consolation life gain/damage, and can combo with languish or Ayli for some good bursts in both categories.

Read the Bones - Only source of draw.

Blighted Steppe - Great burst of life gain to combo with Ayli.

Mage-Ring Network - For Ayli spam in single turn/ For casting a stronger Hangarback

Shambling Vent - Creature in a pinch.
