(Testing them out for now)

Just my take on a green & white-based Modern Death & Taxes deck. I really like the archetype, but my favorite color combination is GW, so why not?

After playing with the deck for a bit, I took out Stoneforge Mystic & Batterskull/Sword. Why?

  • the artifacts were dead draws too often: it takes a lot of mana to get them out and useful, and my creatures die to just about any removal when I try to equip them. They did not help me get back into the game when I was behind; I always rather wanted a taxing creature
  • Stoneforge seems, in many matchups, to only be able to use its ability if you draw multiples, because one always dies. This is the reason, I think, why the successful Stoneforge decks are almost all blue-based so the can protect it; then it becomes so much better. In Legacy, Stoneforge can get Jitte, which is the adequate play for the lower mana ressources this deck usually has

So, what is this deck good at, then?

With 13 of the 22 lands being utility lands, the deck has surprisingly little dead draws, and a surprising amount of card draw with Horizon Canopy and Excavator.

It's a grindly little bugger, and I love it :-)
