Despite having to take the role of the control deck in this matchup, Counterspell isn't very good here. This is because most of Zoo's threats cost 1-2 mana and while we are ok trading even on mana, trading down (Counterspelling a 1-drop) is not a position we want to be in. Additionally, Shadow Prophecy, while great at helping dig through the deck, the life loss is a bit steep given how explosive Zoo starts tend to be. Lastly, Gifts Ungiven can be a bit less impactful, especially into Stubborn Denial and Flusterstorm. Celestial Purge affords an early answer to Leyline of the Guildpact while Void Rend and Supreme Verdict can clean up any other threat the opponent may have without having to worry about losing a counter-war.

This is a very similar deck, but with a "scam" sub-theme instead of the control variant we are using. Due to this, mulliganing against this deck can be extremely punishing. Post-board, bringing in uncounterable ways (in the form of Extripate & Dovin's Veto) to prevent the opponent from resolving a Goryo's Vengence can go a long way towards shutting down their game plan. Additionally, without reliable removal for cards like Serra's Emissary (naming creatures) or Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines (shutting down etb triggers), the Goryo's opponent may find it VERY difficult to win playing a "fair" game.

-2 Prismatic Ending

Despite being a combo deck, Yawgmoth is still quite capable of playing a "fair" game. Since their combo revolves around activated creature abilities, Drana and Linvala can force the Yawgmoth opponent into playing a "fair" game if they don't have a way to readily answer it. Additionally, Extripate and Celestial Purge afford cheap instant speed ways of interacting with their combo, further forcing them into playing a "fair" game. From there, Supreme Verdict helps us reset the board and stabilize before turning the corner ourselves. Untapping with a Teferi, Time Raveler is often HUGE in this matchup (provided we can then turn the corner) as it further restricts the opponents gameplay and protects our graveyard from an untimely Endurance.

Tron is known for going WAY over the top of traditional control decks and our deck is no exception. As such we cannot take the control path in this matchup, we must race. Postboard, Prismatic Endings and Leyline Bindings come out in favor of Stony Silence and Dovin's Vetos. Keeping the Tron opponent from resolving a Karn, Ulamog or The One Ring (in that order) should be a priority as well.
+1 Stony Silnce
+2 Dovin's Veto
-2 Prismatic Ending
-1 Leyline Binding
