This is it: the Modern version of Battle of Wits.
And just to be clear, it works on a competitive level.
It brings together the best cards of 4 colors, killing by either the card it got its name from, or Scapeshift. It can also Bring to Light into Scapeshift, effectively adding up to 12 cards that instantly win the game.
Because the deck has 240 cards total, it doesn't really matter how many mountains you draw. There is a total of 17 Mountains in this deck (the shockduals plus Cinder Glade plus one basic), so you will always be able to Scapeshift for lethal.
The basic strategy is to just survive/ramp/filter your way to one of the 12 win options, but you have plenty of ways to win if that is not going to work. Young Pyromancer turns every one of the many instants and sorceries into a token that can attack, Loxodon Smiter and Goofy were just too strong to not include them.
Mainly, most of those cards are about card advantage, like the Pyroclasm or Wrath effects that destroy several creatures for only 1 card, Mulldrifter or Gifts that draws more than one, or combination cards that both get rid of one threat and give you another card, like Electrolyze or Remand. You have some really nice recursion in form of Snapcaster Mage and Eternal Witness, who give you back one of your card advantage cards, and then swing for some damage. I then added pseudo-timewalks (Remand was already in) in form of Explore and to a lesser degree Coiling Oracle and Sakura-Tribe Elder. They are meant to just ramp you one and then chump so you survive until you can cast your wrath or win condition.
Gifts Ungiven should be clear - it is best used on Battle of Wits, Bring to Light, Scapeshift and Eternal Witness at the end of the opponents turn, then you untap for the kill.
The deck is way more consistent than it looks. It combines the fun and variety of Highlander and Commander with the competitiveness of a Modern Tier deck.
To get it this consistent, I had to stay in four colors, though, which has its downsides: because the best single card removal spells (Terminate and such) are missing, the deck has its problems with early (turn 2 or 3) creatures of toughness 4 and above, since most of the spells only deal 3 damage or cost 4 mana. This makes the deck a little weak to Delver and Runebogle. Even that is winnable, but the odds are clearly not in your favor against those two.
On the other hand, you have a natural immunity to mill decks. Who is going to mill you for >200?!

I would love to see someone cover the deck or play it on a tournament, since I thought of this myself without copypasting stuff, but I doubt that I will do it myself, due to financial reasons.
Online playtesting turned out pretty promising, though!
If you have got any idea on how to improve it, please let me know. especially the sideboard isn't quite what I want it to be yet, and I'm not to keen on playing Oblivion Ring either, since it costs 3 mana and can be undone.
