To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.

Context: My playgroup plays at what is essentially a high-powered kitchen table level. We have access to most cards, but are more focused on having a fun play environment than winning games.
I fell in love with Mairsil and began brewing with him to see what he could do. The resulting deck was extremely controlling and led to uninteractive board states where the other players at the table had few options. This is the version of Mairsil that emerged after soliciting feedback from the rest of the playgroup.
Notable omissions:
Sage of Hours/Anthroplasm: Easy infinite turn combo
Aetherling: Does basically everything Mairsil wants. Aetherling lets Mairsil dodge targeted removal, avoid wraths, and easily imprint additional cards. This is a borderline case, but I found myself asking, "When do I ever not tutor for Aetherling?", which led to me cutting it, at least in this version of the deck.
Nevinyrral's Disk/Soul of New Phyrexia: Disk coupled with Soul or Aetherling leads to an effectively locked down board that's difficult to answer.
Tree of Perdition/Hateflayer: Tree of Perdition lets Mairsil set an opponent's life total to 4. Coupled with Hateflayer and haste, it kills an opponent for 3 mana. I deemed this too powerful for the kind of game I wanted to play, so I cut Tree. Hateflayer is fine and useful on its own, but was later removed due to space limitations.
Buried Alive/other tutors: More tutors leads to more linear and repetitive gameplay. I've included Gamble and Intuition because they're on-theme and don't fit well into most EDH decks, but I am considering cutting even those.
Changelog:
10/29/19:
Out: Izzet Charm; Intuition; Talisman of Indulgence; Blade of Selves; Avatar of Woe; Crimson Mage; Deadeye Navigator; Eater of the Dead; Feldon of the Third Path; Magus of the Bazaar; Pili-Pala; Quicksilver Elemental
In: Siren's Ruse; Mirage Mirror; Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief; Hoard-Smelter Dragon; Scourge of Kher Ridges; Shauku, Endbringer; Steel Hellkite; Skyship Stalker; Jodah's Avenger; Prakhata Pillar-Bug; Chainer, Dementia Master; Stitcher Geralf
Most of these changes involve pushing the deck toward a midrange/value style instead of a combo/"all in on Mairsil" style. Intuition is the exception; it felt too strong every time I drew it.
I'm iffy on Shauku. It's really only good attached to Mairsil, which I try to avoid. On the other hand, it provides exile-based removal, and how often do you get to play Shauku? Drana also answers indestructible creatures and enables a Voltron-style finisher. Avatar of Woe was removed to compensate for these additional removal effects, which can be unfun for the table when exiled with Mairsil.
I have also added a small dragon theme to the deck. Skyship Stalker was a straight swap for Crimson Mage, as a midrangier creature with a similar effect. Steel Hellkite provides a much-needed answer for enchantments, especially in conjunction with evasive effects such as Jodah's Avenger. Scourge of Kher Ridges provides redundant board wipes for the token-rich environment I play in.
