Ðark Flavor (EDH / Commander)

My first EDH deck. It has gone through quite the transformation

A Brief Description: this is just a mono black, mana ramping, simi vampire themed, table friendly non competitive beatdown deck. Using just about all of my favorite black cards, without going way over priced. I think every card in here is less than 20 bucks, which i don't like to even come close to. 5 bucks is usually my limit, but most of these cards i bought when i first started playing, and didn't know exactly how much someone should be spending on an edh deck.

At The Helm:

Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet is my commander in large multiplayer games. she goes really well with Akroma's Memorial. Most of this deck is centralized around killing creatures. Harvester of Souls, and Reaper from the Abyss, Are two best beneficiaries of creatures dying.

if im going for early board control then Kiku, Night's Flower is my commander.

if i'm going for the win i use Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief with mana ramp is pretty good

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed for reanimation shenanigans and fun stuff. I can attack my own stuff with kiku or drana if I have Grave Pact in play to make everyone sac a creature but I keep mine with undying. Kinda cool kinda fun.

Ob Nixilis, Unshackled works great against any deck that has a bunch of lands like Evolving Wilds that do not tap for mana but search for them. green deck hate, and five color hate.

Card Draw, And Mana Ramp: because the mana ramp is so good in this deck, card draw also has to be important. once you get way ahead of the game with mana you'll empty your hand out pretty quickly, thats why i have multiple sources of card draw. Cards like Bloodgift Demon, Phyrexian Arena, and Erebos, God of the Dead. MANA RAMPING is good in this deck because you are able to get many of the mana ramp out pretty easily such as Crypt of Agadeem, Cabal Coffers, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Now because most of the cards in the deck have a high devotion. Its pretty easy to get Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx ramping better than Cabal Coffers. Also Praetor's Grasp is great for mana ramping as well, I can exile any of the above named lands form someone's deck and play it that turn, or there Sol Ring or there Gilded Lotus ext ext you get the picture. Other honorable mention are: Crypt Ghast, Extraplanar Lens, Magus of the Coffers, Nirkana Revenant these are just as good if not better, and other ones that are not on such a grand scale as the ones i just mentioned Such as Sol Ring, Jet Medallion, Scrying Sheets, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Myriad Landscape, and Liliana of the Dark Realms although her ultimate will put you on a grand scale.

Combos and Synergy: Harvester of Souls + Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet , Gatekeeper of Malakir + Reaper from the Abyss , Illusionist's Bracers + Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet , Erebos, God of the Dead + Liliana Vess to get that card you just tutored for... Indulgent Tormentor + Reaper from the Abyss ... say for instance some one was about to search their library and Ob Nixilis, Unshackled is in your graveyard, Whip of Erebos is a sneaky way to get him in just on the stack Ob Nixilis, Unshackled + Whip of Erebos is a neat combo... Crypt Ghast + Nirkana Revenant /Exsanguinate or Profane Command... this usually works Ghost Quarter + Ob Nixilis, Unshackled ... a great way to keep hitting for damage Akroma's Memorial add a whole bunch of deathtouch creatures for deathtouch, first strike, and vigilance. like to see someone get through that. Akroma's Memorial adds so many new dimensions to the deck like Akroma's Memorial + Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet , Akroma's Memorial + Reanimate , Akroma's Memorial + Army of the Damned + Demon of Death's Gate 's 2nd casting ability. Akroma's Memorial + Elbrus, the Binding Blade /any other creature really. Lashwrithe + Nightmare Lash thats a big living weapon. Blood Tribute + Sanguine Bond will kill at least one person if you have a vamp to tap. Sanguine Bond + Whip of Erebos , Exsanguinate + Sanguine Bond , Gray Merchant of Asphodel + Sanguine Bond , Akroma's Memorial is such a good card. what are they gonna do if you have Akroma's Memorial + Withengar Unbound that way too much evasion to stop this guys getting through. Demon of Death's Gate's 2nd casting ability Demon of Death's Gate + Grave Pact , Demon of Death's Gate + Dictate of Erebos , and Butcher of Malakir + Demon of Death's Gate ... enough combos for now. there's more but i'm not putting them all up here.
