To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
I call it combo because it needs to be played like a combo deck imo.
Ideal curve:
t2 Taigam's Scheming or Gather the Pack
t3 Gurmag or Tasigur for 1 black. 2 mana up for Stubborn Denial, Negate or Duress.
t4 Woodland Wanderer, Languish, Sorin or upkeep/endstep Reclaim to get back Stubborn Denial/Negate.
So basically the entire point of the deck is to play Tasigur/Gurmag Angler on t3 with protection spells up. If they cannot kill Gurmag or Tasigur you overpower them and win. Simple but effective lol. :)
Reclaim takes away your draw step but it is Stubborn Denial #5 and 6 most of the time. But you can also use it to get back a win condition or a Planeswalker. I think it's good in this deck because of what we are trying to do.
Taigam's Scheming seems like a bad card and it usually is. But in this deck it is crucial ramp as well as library manipulation to find the combo piece you're missing. e.g. You could have Gurmag Angler in hand but not have Stubborn Denial or vice versa. In which case you would mill 4 cards but leave that card on top. Or you could be missing a land drop etc. I have kept hands with only lands and Taigam's Scheming and won. Do not underestimate this card's utility or think that you can afford to cut it for something else. There is no better mill card currently.
Gather the Pack will often whiff. But you don't care if you don't hit 2 creatures out of it. You're fine with only hitting one and milling 5. If you happen to get 2 creatures then that's awesome.
Other cards I considered but gave up on:
-Siege Rhino (I am splashing white so it made sense at first. However getting abzan mana on t4 is a bit tricky so Woodland Wanderer is safer.)
-Kiora, Master of the Depths (gives Gurmag/Tasigur vigilance and untaps a land for Stubborn Denial/Dispel. Also mills 4 and is card advantage. But felt like a win more)
-Dark Petition (very easy to get spell mastery and for 5 mana you can pretty much tutor for a win condition or Languish. However adding a 5 mana spell felt clunky and I felt better with more cheap removal/counters instead)
-Heir of the Wilds (good deathtouch creature but not enough green sources to reliably cast it on t2)
